Half Guard Pass — Knee Shield Control

When an opponent sets a knee shield to block your pass, this technique neutralizes their base by pinning the knee, sprawling to break their grip, and using forehead pressure to flatten them into side control.

Mastering the Half Guard Pass! 🥋🔓💪 This is one of my go-to techniques when facing the knee shield. Starting from Position A, I establish control with a hand on the ribs and a collar grip. With precision, I weave my hand, securing a punch grip on the top of the knee and pinning it to the mat. My collar grip remains constant throughout. I use my shoulder to immobilize the knees, sprawling to create distance. My forehead presses into their chest as I stay on my toes, applying downward pressure to flatten them out. With a final head hug, I transition to dominant side control. Success! 🙌 #jiujitsu #jiujitsulife #bjj #graciebarra #jiujitsumotivation #jiujitsugrappling @bighornathletics
