Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ZenCub, operated by Season Five Ventures, LLC(“ZenCub”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use ZenCub. By using ZenCub, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account — email, display name, and any profile info you provide.
• Content you submit — video URLs, notes, edits, tags, stack organization, and messages sent via the in-app contact form.
• Payments — processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number, CVV, or bank account number. We receive only the transaction ID, amount, last 4 digits, and country of issue.
• Usage & technical — IP address, browser/device type, pages used, error logs.
• Cookies — first-party only, for sign-in sessions and basic analytics. No third-party ad cookies.

2. How we use information

• To provide the service (fetch transcripts, generate summaries, store your library).
• To process payments and apply credits.
• To respond to support requests.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
• To improve ZenCub via debugging and aggregate analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Sub-processors

We use these providers to operate ZenCub. They process data only on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, storage.
• Stripe — payments.
• Railway — application hosting.
• Anthropic and OpenAI — AI text generation; OpenAI Whisper also handles audio transcription when video captions aren’t available.
• Apify — transcript extraction from public videos.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ZenCub, our users, or the public. In a merger or asset sale, information may be transferred subject to this Policy.

4. AI processing

When you submit a video link, we fetch the publicly available transcript and metadata (title, channel, duration). For videos without captions, the audio is transcribed via OpenAI Whisper. The transcript is then sent to an AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) to generate the technique summary, which is saved to your library. These providers operate under commercial API terms prohibiting use of customer inputs to train their public models.

5. Data retention

• Account data — kept while active, plus a reasonable period thereafter for legal, accounting, and abuse-prevention purposes.
• Submitted links and AI summaries — kept until you delete them or close your account.
• Payment records — retained as required by tax and financial recordkeeping laws (typically 7 years).
• Logs — up to 90 days for debugging and security; aggregate metrics may be kept longer.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. Email [email protected] to make a request.

California (CCPA/CPRA):we do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know, correct, delete, and to non-discrimination.

EU / UK / Swiss (GDPR): our legal bases are performance of a contract, legitimate interests (security and product improvement), consent (where required), and legal compliance. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

7. International transfers

ZenCub and its sub-processors are based in the United States. If you access ZenCub from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. under appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.

8. Security

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, scoped access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure.

9. Children

ZenCub is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
