Standing Collar Tie to Rear Naked Choke

A high-percentage standing sequence using a collar tie and duck-under to bypass defenses, secure the back, and finish with a rear naked choke. It solves the problem of opponents turtling or posting up by using knee wedges and hip pressure.

  1. 1Establish a shoulder frame with your non-dominant hand while maintaining a collar tie with your dominant hand.0:41
  2. 2Execute the collar tie by bringing your lead hand to the back of the opponent's head.2:03
  3. 3Flare your elbow slightly to create space, then step your trail leg outside while lowering your elevation.3:01
  4. 4Duck under by placing the top of your head under the opponent's armpit or shoulder.3:49
  5. 5Pull your elbow to your ribs to twist the opponent's shoulder line, then grip the far hip or near leg.4:35
