Back Take from Failed Straight Armbar

Use this when your straight armbar attempt is defended and you lose grip control. It leverages tight hip pressure to extract a leg and secure the back before the opponent can recover guard.

  1. 1Extend your arm to attack the straight armbar, then maintain tight hip contact if you lose the grip.0:06
  2. 2Extract one leg and secure a grip on the side of the opponent's body.0:16
  3. 3Tuck the opponent's foot into your leg to form an X-hook on their thigh.0:21
  4. 4Bring the opponent down or flatten them out while maintaining the X-hook.0:29
  5. 5Repeat the entry by extending the arm, losing the grip, and hooking the leg with the opposite foot.0:32
  6. 6If your legs are too short for a full X-hook, pull the leg through further to create a first hook.0:42
  7. 7Secure the second hook and pull the opponent down to finalize the back take.0:48
