Rear Naked Choke Escape — Wrist Control & Straight Arm Threat

Apply this when the choke is fully locked. Isolate the choking arm, jam it under your armpit, and threaten a straight armlock to break their grip and circle out.

  1. 1Reach up with the hand on the same side as the opponent's arm behind your head to grab their wrist.6:20
  2. 2Insert your other hand sideways or vertically behind your head to pull the choking arm off your neck.6:30
  3. 3Jam the choking arm under your armpit and hold it.6:35
  4. 4Pull free the opponent's fingers from your neck, then switch to a two-hand wrist grip.6:45
  5. 5Pop the wrist over your shoulder to threaten a straight armlock.6:54
  6. 6Control the head with both hands, pull to break the hook, and circle out to the top.7:00
